Having lived in Bolivia for almost a year many years ago and returning many times since, I have an in-depth knowledge of this beautiful country. I'm also a seasoned Photo Guide and Photography educator of over 12 years, with extensive experience in teaching photography and photo editing… so you'll be in good hands!
Bolivia is such a beautiful, dynamic country with natural diversity. The geographic diverse landscape creates dramatic and sensational photo opportunities. I chose to make the tour in the rainy season because it gives me two advantages: with varied weather conditions we have the wild cloud formations as from another world, which is not visible during any other season. Water on the Salt Flats for the marvelous reflection.
With 11 million inhabitants of multi-ethnic diversity the Inca legacy lives strong in the folk soul. Bolivians are very hard working and shy but charming people. They carry the greatest respect for nature and proudly care for their country. We´ll see some of Bolivia’s unique animal species, taste the different local foods, see some immense mountains against vast open plains, dangerous crevasses, colored lakes, geothermal areas and oasis in deserts.
I first visited Bolivia in 1989, then just a 17 year old kid or would you say a sheltered teenager from Iceland :-) For me Bolivia was another world. I stayed in the country for 10 months as an exchange student, I got to know the people and their culture quite well, and fell in love with the Country. I revisited a couple of times, stayed in touch with my family and friends and it´s through them I got to know the local experts who lead us through this adventure of Bolivia Altiplano and Salar de Uyuni (the Salt Flats).

Once I started leading Photo Tours it was in the back of my mind to organize a Photo Workshop in Bolivia. It wasn´t until February 2017 I gathered a small group of people and did a scouting expedition. We planned the route and hired locals. It was 14 days total and I must admit it’s one of the most amazing trips I have ever taken!

why choose my tour & who is it for?
This Tour is for all level photographers, Beginners to Advanced. If you are interested in people, culture and getting amazing photos this is the tour for you! A Spouse friendly Tour, there are always plenty of options for your spouse while you shoot.
Bolivia highlands are high altitude area and therefore the difficulty level of this tour is Moderate.
What makes my tour special? Two things are special about my tour: I have expert local people in charge, I am a seasoned traveler and photo-guide, BUT it´s not wise to travel with out local assistance in the highlands of Bolivia. Also two expert Photographers to assist and teach you and to make sure you have “the frame”. All inclusive tour for only USD 515 a day: Accommodation, meals, all ground travel, expert photographers, guide, drivers, water in the bus etc.
