Once I have established a connection with people a whole new world opens up. Before starting to take photos a conversation has to be made. I listen to their stories, get to know the person and their environment. It´s the only way for me to truly represent who they are through my photos. Everyone can take a snapshot, but getting close to people requires effort and time. Even when I hire models for specific shoots I do the same. The camera alone creates a distance between me and my subject, the conversations bring us closer. It´s no philosophy or life´s lesson speak I´m looking for just relaxed conversations about their daily life and routines. When I involve people in my projects and while I´m working in their turf I give them a voice, get their input on best practice on scene and I truly value their opinion. The result is better photos, true friendship and mutual respect.
